CB Trumaine Johnson is expected to play the
season on the franchise tender after reportedly being unable to
reach a long-term deal with the Rams. Johnson, 27, signed his
$16.742 million franchise tender for the 2017 season in March,
guaranteeing that he will be the highest-paid cornerback in the
NFL next season. However, Johnson will reportedly not sign a new
deal with the Rams before the league's July 17 deadline. In 14
games last season with Los Angeles, Johnson recorded 57 tackles,
one interception and 11 passes defensed.
