“The purpose of the award is to recognize alumni who are making a
difference in their community,” said Executive Director Chris
Downing. “We encourage co-workers, family members, friends and
professors to consider taking a few minutes to nominate an alum who
deserves to be honored.”
Last year’s award winners were Justin and Adam Bellas, brothers and
owners of Bellas Landscaping, which is a company they started while
attending Heartland. The brothers participate in many volunteer
projects throughout the community and often hire Heartland students
for internships and seasonal help.
