							Obituary 
							McLEAN - Mr. James L. Rutherford, 82, of McLean, 
							passed away at 6:12 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 
							2017, at his home.
 Memorial services for Mr. Rutherford will be held on 
							Friday, February 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer 
							United Methodist Church, 1971 E. 550 Road, in rural 
							McLean. Rev. Don Doty will officiate. Burial will 
							follow at Funks Grove Cemetery. Cremation Rites have 
							been accorded.
 
 Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. 
							at the church prior to the service on Friday.
 
 James Leighton Rutherford was born October 19, 1934, 
							in Winchester, the son of Albert and Mabel Kilver 
							Rutherford. He was united in marriage with Arlene 
							Onalee Rahe, on November 3, 1963. She survives.
 
 James is also survived by their children: Greg (Rondy) 
							Rutherford and Shane (Marlene) Rutherford, both of 
							McLean; three grandchildren: Jakeob, Jessica, and 
							Leighton; and one brother: John Rutherford of 
							Winchester.
 
 James worked for McLean County Soil Conservation 
							Department and McLean County Watershed Conservation. 
							He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. 
							He received awards for 1984 Outstanding 
							Conservationist of the Year, 2001 Illinois NRCS 
							Lifetime Achievement, 35 years of service to McLean 
							Co. NRCS (SCS), and 2011 Asso. of Ill. SWCD's 
							Employee Service Award for 20 years of service.

							Jim had served at Treasurer for Mt. Hope-Funks Grove 
							Fire Department and as a coach for the McLean Little 
							League. He was a member of the McLean Jaycees, 
							Heyworth Masonic Lodge #251 (32nd Degree Mason) and 
							the Greater Peoria Shrine Club.
 Memorials may be made to McLean County Soil & Water 
							Conservation District Scholarship for Jim 
							Rutherford, Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Fire & Rescue, or 
							Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
 
 Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley 
							Funeral Home in Atlanta.
