[March 03, 2017]    March 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has altered his stance and will stand during the national anthem next season, ESPN reported on Thursday.

 

The decision comes on the heels of Kaepernick hiring new agents, who told all 32 NFL teams that the quarterback would opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers and will be available when free agency begins March 9.

The Tennessee Titans and journeyman quarterback Matt Cassel agreed to terms on a contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team for the 34-year-old Cassel, who will return to Tennessee for a second season.

The New England Patriots plan to release offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, who missed the entire 2016 season with hip and shoulder injuries.

Vollmer, 32, will consider retirement, according to multiple reports. Vollmer made 80 career starts for the Patriots after being a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL draft.
