Alex DeVaney didnt allow a single run as LC Lynx defeats PSU
Fayetteville 7-0 on Monday. The Lady Lynx had a very good day at
the plate pounding out 10 hits, Erin Rankin, Kiya Harper, Alex
DeVaney, and Ali Peden each collected multiple hits for the
Lynx. Harper went 2 for 2 at the plate as she led the team with
two RBI's and a inside the park home run in the third inning.
Erin Rankin got her shot at an inside the park homerun as well
in the top of the seventh inning. DeVaney picked up her first
win, throwing a complete game shutout only allowing two hits and
striking out six.
"it took us a few innings to get going, but with our girls it
was a matter of time before we started seeing the ball and
driving it like we can. We were aggressive on the bases (Kenzie
Cooper and Erin Rankin each stole a base) and consistant in the
box. DeVaney had a really strong first game, I am pleased with
our overall efforts today"

"Our hitting just kept getting stronger as the day went on. I
have been watching the girls hit in the gym for the past 8 weeks
of preseason and knew that we had power, but to come out and
start our season the way that they did today is a good
indication of what we are capable of. Today was a very very GOOD
day for the Lady Lynx on the softball field".
