The Lincoln College Track and Field team entered six athletes
to compete at the Indoor National Track and Field Meet hosted by
Pittsburg (Kansas) State March 3-4. Three school records were broken
during the meet.
Sophomore Earl Armstrong (Toledo, OH) was the first of the Lynx to
post a personal and school best time. Armstrong broke the Lincoln
College record in the 600. His time of 1:20.69 placed him 12th in
the nation.
On the Women's side, freshman throwers Bralon Mack (Colp) and
Carrissa Tinsley (Colfax) took turns breaking the school record in
the shot. First, Mack recorded a throw of 12.52 meters (4101)
placing her 13th in the event. Tinsley followed up Mack's record
toss by raising the mark to 12.70 meters (418). Her record setting
throw placed her 11th in the nation.
In the final race of the meet, three sophomores and a freshman set
the school record in the 4x400 relay. Sophomores Earl Armstrong
(Toledo, OH), Roman Hampton (Peoria), Dontae Adams (Hammond, IN) and
freshman Dwight Johnson (South Holland) posted a time of 3:19.9
placing them 11th in the nation. Their finish beat the old school
record by almost three seconds.

Lincoln College Track and Field Coach Brian Herron
said, I was very pleased at how well our athletes performed at this
meet. Every athlete beat their best time of the year and beat the
school record in their event. Coach Oldham and Coach Richardson did
an excellent job of getting their athletes ready for this meet. This
will be a great springboard as we head in to our outdoor season. I
cant wait to see how many more records we can take down!
The Lynx will be in action again on March 25th at the Bill Smith
Invite hosted by Vincennes University. [Mark
