Elkhart businesses to offer second "Art and Craft Day" March 18th

[March 10, 2017]   ELKHART - Saturday March 18th will be the second “Art & Craft Day in Elkhart”, and will be hosted by Horsefeathers, Birdsong Books and Vintage, and the Country Bumpkin.

Each shop will have its own craft, and each session will be offered two times, 10 a.m. and noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with an hour break for lunch at the Wild Hare Café at noon. Also participating will be the Elkhart Public Library and the Rt. 66 Slot Car Raceway, each of which will have family based activities, allowing everyone in the family to have an activity.

Horsefeathers will again offer watercolor painting in the morning and acrylic painting in the afternoon, with two new subjects taught by well-known artist Reneé Sisk. Jean Tweet will offer fabric collage instructions at Birdsong using vintage material, buttons and lace. You are welcome to bring special items that you would like to incorporate in your special work. Jamie Theobald will offer beginning crochet at the Country Bumpkin. All projects are designed to be completed in the 2 hour time period, allowing you to do two different classes if desired.

There will be a cost per each two-hour session that includes all materials. Of the fee charged, $5 will be donated directly to the Elkhart Historical Society to use to defray costs while helping to offer events for the education and enjoyment of the community.

Plans for future 3rd Saturday classes are being formulated, so please check the website for further developments.

Lunch at the Wild Hare will consist of a cup of Tomato Basil Soup and a half sandwich of turkey cheddar melt on artisan bread, served with chips and soup crackers, with coffee, tea or water, at an additional cost.
