Obituary
Rose Rupnik of Sherman, went home to be with our
Lord on March 4, 2017.
Rose was born on May 16, 1918 in Mulberry, KS to
Johann and Rose (Gracner) Rupnik. She was preceded
in death by her parents, as well as siblings: John
Rupnik Jr., Ann (Frank) Natale, Mary (John) Ippoliti,
Herman Rupnik, and Ronald Rupnik.
Rose is survived by her dear sister: Louise Fedor of
Lincoln, several nieces and nephews, many great
nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and
nephews. Her family meant a lot to Rose. Rose
enjoyed her childhood years in Auburn, and moved to
Springfield as a young adult. During WWII, Rose
worked at Armbruster’s Tent Factory making tents for
the troops. Later she worked a punch press for 38
years at Hobbs Factory on behalf of the war effort.
Rose enjoyed reading, loved to listen and dance to
Slovenian music, Polkas, the Jitterbug, and Waltzes.
She attended the Slovenian Wine Festivals in
Springfield and the Slovenian Picnics in her
hometown of Auburn. Rose was a member of the
Slovenian SNPJ Society for 80+ years.
In her later years, she enjoyed visits with her
family, singing with her family, watching the
Lawrence Welk Show, Antiques Road Show and major
league baseball, and participating in the activities
at the Villa. Rose moved to the Villa East in 2001
and called the Villa home the remainder of her life.
It was easy for her to call the Villa home with the
great care she received there from the nursing team
at her station. Rose was especially fond of and
grateful for the special loving care she received
from Tammie at the Villa East.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
