The
New York Giants signed defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to a
four-year contract, the team announced Friday.
Pierre-Paul agreed to a $62 million contract with $40 million
guaranteed, according to multiple reports.
The deal for the star pass rusher also includes a $20 million
signing bonus and he will earn $34 million within 11 months and
$49.5 million over the first three years, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport
reported. The total value of the deal could reach $66 million if
incentives are met, according to ESPN.

The Giants are expected to sign former Jets quarterback Geno Smith
on Monday after he undergoes a physical this weekend.
The 26-year-old free agent visited with the Giants last weekend and
the team agreed to a deal on Friday pending Smith passes a physical,
according to multiple reports.
Smith started one game for the Jets last season but suffered a torn
ACL against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 on Oct. 23.

The Oakland Raiders are considering a move to acquire retired
running back Marshawn Lynch, according to reports.
Lynch, who retired from the NFL and Seattle Seahawks after the 2015
season, could be an option for the Raiders this season either
through trade or by his release, league sources told ESPN and NFL
Network.
Lynch's playing rights are owned by the Seahawks as he has two years
remaining on his contract. He has been on the reserve/retired list
since May 2016.

Rex Ryan will be spending this fall without an NFL head coaching job
for the first time since 2008. Instead, he'll reportedly be paid to
analyze and talk about football.
Ryan has agreed on a multi-year deal to be part of ESPN's 'Sunday
NFL Countdown,' the New York Daily News reported.
Ryan was fired by the Buffalo Bills with one game left in the 2016
season. He went 15-16 in two seasons with the Bills.

The
Indianapolis Colts signed free agent nose tackle Al Woods to a
two-year, $5 million deal.
In addition, the Colts re-signed versatile defensive back Darius
Butler to a one-year deal. The Colts plan to move Butler to safety
this season, and his deal has a base salary of $3 million with a
maximum of $4.5 million possible through incentives and escalators,
the Indianapolis Star reported.

The Arizona Cardinals re-signed defensive tackle Frostee Rucker to a
one-year contract.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Rucker played in 57 games (22 starts) over
the past four seasons with the Cardinals after joining the team as a
free agent in 2013.

The Chicago Bears beefed up their defensive line by signing
defensive tackle John Jenkins to a one-year deal.
Financial terms weren't immediately available.
The 6-foot-3, 359-pound Jenkins has been a run-stopper through his
first four NFL seasons. He has 118 career tackles and 1.5 sacks.
