On Saturday morning, a portion of the Route 66 celebration in Lincoln was to include a vehicle parade from Latham Park in downtown Lincoln all the way out to the Mill on 66 – Route 66 Museum.

While the parade did go on, the turnout was not as large as one might have hoped. The vehicle parade was planned and intended for those who were interested to bring out their classic and vintage automobiles to travel the course that was once known as Route 4, before Route 66 was built.

However, most car collectors don’t bring their vehicles out in threatening weather. So the parade consisted of about a dozen vehicles. However among those included in the parade were a couple of nice entries, such as one antique automobile, the “Route 66 Chick,” an entry by the Salt Creek A.B.A.T.E. and a vintage army vehicle driven by Patrick Doolin.
