As part of their efforts, they are bringing a bike
rodeo for young cyclists to downtown Lincoln on Friday, May 19 from
5:30pm-8:30pm. The event is being held in conjunction with the City
of Lincoln’s first “Third Friday” event of the season and will be
located on Broadway Street. A bike rodeo is
a bicycle skills event that provides an opportunity for cyclists to
practice and develop skills that will help them to become better
cyclists and avoid typical crashes.
The goal is to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn,
practice, and demonstrate their bicycle handling skills in a fun,
noncompetitive atmosphere. The events will feature five stations
regarding bike safety and riding skills. Participants must bring
their own bike and helmet. Children must be accompanied by a parent
or guardian.
