[May 16, 2017]    Lydia Ko of New Zealand remained atop the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings but her 82-week reign is perilously close to coming to an end.

Ko's advantage over second-ranked So Yeon Ryu of South Korea is a mere 0.23 points while No. 3 Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand is 0.25 points from the top slot.

Entering this week's Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg, Va., Ko is winless in 18 starts dating to her victory at the 2016 Marathon Classic. She enjoyed a 7.10 cushion atop the rankings last year in mid-July.

Ryu and Jutanugarn are among four players to hold down the No. 2 ranking since Ko claimed the top spot

Jutanugarn is the defending champion of the Kingsmill event, winning by one stroke a year ago by shooting a 4-under 67 in the final round.

In Gee Chun of South Korea and American Lexi Thompson rounded out the top five.
