LINCOLN
- Want to spend some time with Mary Lincoln?
Mrs. Lincoln will be hosting a “Strawberry Party” on Saturday, May
20, at the Lincoln Heritage Museum at Lincoln College.
“Mrs. Lincoln is looking forward to welcoming children, families and
friends from the area to her special strawberry party to kick off
the summer at the Lincoln Heritage Museum,” Museum Director Tom
McLaughlin said. “This is a great opportunity for families to come
out and enjoy some time with Mrs. Lincoln, along with strawberry ice
cream and a variety of 19th century children’s activities.”
The free event will run from 1-4 p.m. The museum will have
children’s games that were popular during Mrs. Lincoln’s time, such
as hoop and sticks, jacks, marbles and bean bag double can.
There will also be an opportunity for visitors to write a letter to
President Abraham Lincoln and to the Union troops, giving them
advice on how to be courageous.
