THIS WEEK: This will be the 32nd NASCAR Cup All-Star race. Joey
Logano is the defending winner. ... The All-Star Race began in 1985
and has been held at Charlotte every year since (with the exception
of 1986 at Atlanta Motor Speedway). ... The first winner of the
All-Star Race was Darrell Waltrip. ... This is a non-points-paying
race, meaning drivers will not earn points in the NASCAR Cup
standings. However, there is a pretty impressive prize nonetheless:
The winner of the All-Star Race receives $1 million. ... Kyle Larson
(475 points) continues to lead the NASCAR Cup standings. Last
weekend's winner at Kansas, Martin Truex Jr. is second (431)
followed by Brad Keselowski (408), Chase Elliott (361), Jamie
McMurray (354), Kevin Harvick (347), Kyle Busch (325), Jimmie
Johnson (323), Logano (320) and Clint Bowyer (317).
NASCAR XFINITY SERIES: The series is off for a second straight
weekend. The next race is May 27, the Hisense 4K TV 300 at Charlotte

points standings, followed by Justin Allgaier (301), William Byron

Saturday's IndyCar Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Scott
Dixon finished second, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay. ... Winners of
the first five races have been Sebastien Bourdais (St. Petersburg),
James Hinchcliffe (Long Beach), Josef Newgarden (Alabama) Simon
Pagenaud (Phoenix) and Power (IndyCar Grand Prix). ... Pagenaud
leads the IndyCar standings (191 points), followed by Dixon (181),
Newgarden (152), Helio Castroneves (149), Power (145), Hinchcliffe
