Jameson Taillon is keeping an optimistic outlook in his recovery
following surgery for testicular cancer.
"(I'm) feeling good now, feeling healthy. We're getting all good
news back so far," Taillon said on Friday. "Going forward, it'll
be something I have to monitor and stay on top of, something
I'll carry with me the rest of my life."
Taillon, 25, discovered the abnormality after being placed on
the disabled list on May 6. He had tissue surgically removed two
days later at Allegheny General Hospital.
Taillon, who owns a 2-1 mark with a 3.31 ERA in six starts this
season, was cleared to play catch and resume light
cardiovascular drills Wednesday. He has a 7-5 career mark with a
3.36 ERA in 24 games.

The St. Louis Cardinals activated infielder Jhonny Peralta from
the 10-day disabled list prior to their game against the San
Francisco Giants.
Rookie outfielder Magneuris Sierra was optioned to Double-A
Springfield in a corresponding move.
Peralta, who has been sidelined since April 17 with upper
respiratory issues, batted just .120 with three singles in 25
at-bats this season.

The Boston Red Sox recalled right-hander Noe Ramirez from
Triple-A Pawtucket prior to their game against the Oakland
Athletics.
Left-hander Robbie Ross was optioned to Pawtucket in a
corresponding move.
