LINCOLN
- Dr. David Gerlach, President of Lincoln College, spoke about
the State's budget crisis to the Logan County Democrats on Saturday,
May 13th.
The financial crisis is affecting students who apply for the MAP
grants. These are students motivated to further their education and
need the financial grants. These budget cuts to colleges and
universities such as Lincoln College are greatly affecting the
stability of higher learning in Illinois.
Dr. Gerlach strongly encouraged public involvement in letting our
elected officials know the economic loss this is creating for towns
and cities like Lincoln.
Logan County Democrats will meet Saturday, June 10th at 10 a.m. at
the Lincoln Public Library. A guest speaker will present information
about an issue that pertains to our local communities.
