May 23 (The Sports Xchange) -
Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano was activated off the
10-day disabled list before Tuesday's game in Washington against the
Nationals. He had missed the last 11 games with a right quad strain.
Injury-hit Seattle has now made 80 transactions involving the 40-man
roster in 51 days since Opening Day. The Mariners (20-25) entered
Tuesday in last place in the American League West.
Cano, who had not been on the DL since 2006, was placed on the
disabled list May 16, retroactive to May 13. He was hitting .296
with eight homers and 28 RBIs going into Tuesday's game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated infielder Logan Forsythe from the
disabled list after he missed 30 games due to a broken toe, the team
announced.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher
Josh Ravin to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Forsythe hit .264 with 20 home runs last season for the Tampa Bay
Rays. In 14 games for the Dodgers this season, the second baseman is
hitting .295 with no homers.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Francisco Pena, the son of
retired five-time All-Star catcher Tony Pena, cleared waivers and
has been assigned to Triple-A Norfolk, the team announced.
The Orioles designated him for assignment last week to add an extra
relief pitcher instead of carrying a third catcher.
Pena, 27, was 4-for-7 at the plate with two home runs and two RBIs
in three games with the Orioles this season.
