LINCOLN
- There’s a safer alternative to driving for anyone who has
too much to drink during the Memorial Day weekend. Safe Rides will
be available May 26-29 to those at any bar in Lincoln. Safe
Ride is a free ride home within the city of Lincoln sponsored by the
Healthy Communities Partnership.
“Memorial Day weekend is often a time of celebration and often spent
with friends and family. For some, the celebration includes alcohol.
Healthy Communities Partnership offers Safe Rides to help keep the
streets safer for everyone. Our hope is that the community will
remember the service is available and that bartenders will suggest
it when necessary,” said Angela Stoltzenburg, Healthy Communities
Partnerships Manager.
To receive a free ride home within the city limits on these nights,
ask the bartender for a SAFE RIDE ticket. The free taxi rides are
paid for by HCP.
