WASHINGTON
(Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged lawmakers to
hear testimony from a former foreign policy adviser as part of their
Russia probes, saying Carter Page would counter previous testimony by
former FBI and intelligence officials. |

"So now it is
reported that the Democrats, who have excoriated Carter Page
about Russia, don't want him to testify. He blows away their
case against him & now wants to clear his name by showing 'the
false or misleading testimony by James Comey, John Brennan...'
Witch Hunt!" Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to the former FBI
and CIA directors.
Page is one of several Trump associates of interest to
congressional investigators probing alleged Russian meddling in
the 2016 U.S. election and any contacts with Trump's
presidential campaign.
