Rangers 4, Bruins 2
Jimmy Vesey scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves as
the New York Rangers held off the Boston Bruins 4-2 on
Wednesday. The win was the Rangers' fifth in a row, the longest
active streak in the league.
Pavel Buchnevich also scored for New York, and Rick Nash added
an empty-net goal. The Rangers (8-7-2) have more wins than
regulation losses for the first time this season.
David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron scored for the Bruins, who
got 29 saves from Tuukka Rask.
Maple Leafs 4, Wild 2
Frederik Andersen made 35 saves, and Nazem Kadri, Patrick
Marleau, Connor Carrick and Connor Brown scored as Toronto
topped Minnesota. Brown added an assist.
Jason Zucker scored twice for the Wild, and goaltender Devan
Dubnyk made 15 stops. Eric Staal had two assists in Minnesota's
third consecutive loss.
Lightning 5, Sharks 1
Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov -- the league's Nos. 1 and 2
leading scorers -- enjoyed three-point nights each and Vladislav
Namestnikov scored two goals as Tampa Bay snapped San Jose's
four-game winning streak.
Stamkos contributed three assists to boost his league-leading
point total to 28. Kucherov scored his NHL-leading 15th goal and
added two assists as Lightning coach John Cooper earned his
200th win. Jake Dotchin and Slater Koekkoek also scored goals
and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 32 saves.
Joonas Donskoi scored for the Sharks.
