On December 2nd, a long standing tradition to
start the holiday season returns. The annual Christmas Candlelight
Service in the Chapel will be held on Elkhart Hill (Elkhart
cemetery) in the Historic little chapel.
Elkhart Arts and Crafts Day wraps up with final event November
11th
The Elkhart Historical Society’s final Saturday Craft classes, for
the year will be held November 11th.
The classes are open to the public with paid registration. Please
call 217-947-2238 to hold your space in the class.
Classes offered will be Ice Dying Silk Scarves, Vintage Collage,
Essential Oils, or Painting with Renee.
In the vintage collage class you are welcome to bring personal items
to add to your work. In Essential Oils you will make your own
special blend. Painting will Renee will be Bird on Birdhouse with
Holly at 10 a.m. and Colorful Rooster in acrylic at 1 p.m.
All classes offer two times, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch is offered at
the Wild Hare Café for an additional cost.
Christmas Candlelight Service
The Christmas Candlelight Service at the Chapel on Elkhart Hill will
be held on Saturday, December 2nd. Time options will be 2 p.m., 4
p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The event is open to the public, with a
paid reservation.

Start the Holidays with music and the scent of pine in the
beautifully decorated Chapel.
Adding a delicious meal at the Wild Hare Cafe will round out the day, and help
to put the spirit of Christmas in and the cares of the world out.
Dinner seating will be limited and reservations are required.
The Wild Hare Café is offering a sumptuous meal of Roast Pork Loin or Roast
Turkey, including sage and onion stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry
orange sauce, baby carrots and green beans in butter, fresh baked rolls, and
choice of apple crisp or vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, and coffee or
ice tea. Dinner seating times will be coordinated with your choice of
Candlelight service times.
