celebrates House Blessing No. 23
and 25 years of building homes and lives this Sunday in Emden

Habitat for Humanity of
Logan County (HFHLC) will have a House Blessing of their 23rd home
on Sunday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at 426 Main Street in Emden,
Illinois. Lucas and Alicia Sutton and their family will be handed
the keys to their home that they have been working with HFHLC since
groundbreaking on June 25th. This will also be a celebration of this
HFH affiliates founding 25 years ago on November 19, 1992.
In those 25 years 23 homes have been built or rehabbed There have
been three homes built in Mount Pulaski, one each in Elkhart and
Atlanta and this home; #23 will be the first one in Emden. The
others include 4 homes rehabbed and the remaining 14 new builds all
in Lincoln.

Participating in the dedication, led by HFHLC President, Cince Bowns
will be Bill Sahs the organizing first President of this affiliate,
Leonard Krusemark who was on the founding board of directors and
Dean Leesman current board members. Also participating will be Mayor
Mike Kavanaugh, build co-foremen Larry Zumwalt, Mark Coers and Spud
Newhouse, family mentor Jodi Trussel, and Chris Bivens, pastor of
the Emden Christian Church. The property for this home was Ron
Schleder land, donated to HFHLC by the citizens in Emden.
The board and Sutton family invites the public to join in
celebrating this event and help HFHLC continue a new chapter in the life of HFH
in Logan County. Following the program the public will be invited to tour the
home and enjoy refreshment provided by the Christian Church of Emden.
