11/17/2017 NHL Note - Nashville Predators Lindback, Anders
G Anders Lindback was recalled from Milwaukee of the American Hockey
League affiliate, the team announced Thursday. Lindback has an
AHL-leading eight wins to go along with a 2.46 goals-against average
and .918 save percentage in 11 games this season for the Admirals.

G Juuse Saros was assigned to Milwaukee of the American Hockey
League affiliate, the team announced Thursday. Saros has posted a
1-3-0 mark with a 3.94 goals-against average and .855 save
percentage in four games this season. The 22-year-old Finn owns an
11-12-3 record in 26 career appearances -- all with Nashville.

NHL Note - Florida Panthers Ang, Jonathan
F Jonathan Ang signed a three-year, entry-level contract, the
Florida Panthers announced Thursday. Ang has recorded a team-best 12
goals and 30 points in 21 games with Peterborough of the Ontario
Hockey League. The 19-year-old was named the OHL Player of the Week
on Oct 1 after collecting a pair of three-point performances.
"Jonathan is a highly skilled young player who plays a strong
two-way game and possesses world class speed," general manager Dale
Tallon said. "We've been impressed with Jonathan's development and
look forward to watching him continue to progress as he works toward
beginning his pro career."

NHL Note - Detroit Red Wings Witkowski, Luke
RW Luke Witkowski was handed a 10-game suspension Thursday for his
role in Wednesday's massive brawl in a game against the Calgary
Flames.
During Detroit's 8-2 win, Witkowski was originally involved in a
fight with Flames defenseman Brett Kulak. He was sent off the ice by
officials but returned to the ice and then became entangled in other
fights. Witkowski was suspended because he violated rule 70.6, which
states, "Any player who has been ordered to the dressing room by the
officials and returns to the bench or to the ice surface for any
reason before the appropriate time shall be assessed a game
misconduct and shall be suspended automatically without pay for the
next 10 regular league and/or playoff games."

NHL Note - New Jersey Devils Zajac, Travis
C Travis Zajac was activated from injured reserve and is expected to
make his debut in Thursday's road game against the Toronto Maple
Leafs. Zajac underwent surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle on
Aug. 17. He was expected to be sidelined four to six months.

C Steven Stamkos matched a career high with four points as Tampa Bay
pulled away for a 6-1 victory over the Dallas Stars at Amalie Arena.
Tampa Bay (15-2-2) continued its dominating play, starting with a
power-play goal from Stamkos 47 seconds into the second period. He
added an even-strength goal in the third period, giving him 10 goals
for the season.
Stamkos went into the night as the NHL's points leader, and the
power-play goal was also his league-best seventh.

C Vladislav Kamenev left Thursday's game against the Washington
Capitals with a broken arm.
Kamenev was injured when Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik checked
him hard at center ice in the second period. The 21-year-old Kamenev
was playing his first game with Colorado since being acquired from
Nashville in the three-team deal that sent Matt Duchene to Ottawa.
Kamenev played eight shifts -- two in the second period -- before
leaving with the injury.

more important than a highlight reel stop in the 13th minute of the
first period at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday night. The two-time
Stanley Cup winning goalie dove from one side of his crease to the
other, snuffing out Mike Hoffman's shot at the open net and
propelling the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-1 victory over the Ottawa
Senators in a rematch of last spring's Eastern Conference finalists.
Murray managed to get the palm of his blocker hand on the shot,
right at the goal line. The play went to video review to confirm it
was no goal. It was the decision Murray expected. "I was pretty
sure," Murray said. "As a goalie you have a pretty good idea of
where your net is and where goal line is and stuff like that, so I
was pretty sure it stayed out. If it's close you definitely know as
a goalie. That's your office there. You know every inch of it. I was
pretty confident."

Hoffman by getting the palm of his blocker hand on the shot, right
at the goal line. Hoffman shrugged off the heist.
"Things like that are going to happen," he said of the Murray stop.
"There's good goalies in this league that make saves like that. All
I'm trying to do there is hit the net with the puck in the air. I
did those things. He just made a good save. Some of the times you
just have to tip your hat."

"He looked comfortable out there," Stevens said of Jokinen. "He's a
veteran guy that's got good smarts."
Jokinen became the first player from Finland to play for the Kings
since Lauri Tukonen played three games in the 2006-07 season and one
in 2007-08.

Lagace finished with 19 saves. Vegas coach Gerard Gallant was happy
to see his goaltender recover after a bad night in Edmonton.
"He was great," Gallant said. "He made some key saves. He's got some
pride and the other night wasn't fun and he battled back tonight."
Lagace is one of five goaltenders Vegas has been forced to use
because of injuries.
