							Obituary  
							 
							DECATUR - Merrill Bishop, 90, of 
							Decatur, formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 
							3:48 p.m. Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Heritage 
							Manor in Mt. Zion.
 Merrill was born on July 12, 1927 in Fairfield, to 
							Sherman and Etta (Murphy) Bishop. He married 
							Patricia Karns on September 18, 1947. She survives 
							him in Decatur.
 
 Also surviving are three sons, John (Julie) Bishop 
							of Mount Pulaski, David (Leann) Bishop of Corpus 
							Christi, TX, and Michael (Chay) Bishop of Decatur, 3 
							sisters, Patricia Peebler of Red Bluff, CA, Connie 
							Miller of Las Vegas, NV, and Mary Jane Johnson of 
							Green Lake, WI, seven grandchildren and eight great 
							grandchildren.

							Merrill managed several fertilizer 
							plants during his career. He was a United States 
							Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was a lifetime 
							member of the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 
							#447 where he was a past commander and was also a 
							member of the VFW Post #777. 
							 
							Services will be on Wednesday 
							November 29, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic 
							Church in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Jeffrey Laible 
							officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to 
							services (10:00-11:00) at the church. Military 
							honors will follow services at the church. 
							Arrangements are entrusted to 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount 
							Pulaski.
