							Donald F. Westerman, 80, of Decatur, 
							passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Decatur 
							Memorial Hospital.
 A service to celebrate and honor Donald’s life will 
							be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 
							at Forsyth United Methodist Church. Visitation will 
							be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 
							at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home North Chapel and at 
							9:00 a.m. until service time at Forsyth United 
							Methodist Church. He will be laid to rest at Maroa 
							Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Forsyth 
							United Methodist Church.
 
 Donald was born on September 23, 1937 in Decatur, 
							the son of Verniel and Evelyn (Stoutenborough) 
							Westerman. Don graduated from Maroa High School in 
							1955. He married Elsie Hockaday on June 24, 1956. 
							Don started farming in 1956 and founded Don 
							Westerman, Inc. He was a member of Forsyth United 
							Methodist Church where he held various positions, 
							United Methodist Men, Habitat for Humanity, Farm 
							Bureau Board, Maroa Co-Op Elevator Board and Macon 
							County Board. He was a volunteer for the Hickory 
							Point Fire Department and was previously the Maroa 
							Forsyth School Board President.
 
 Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Elsie; three 
							daughters: Cindie (Dave) Zelhart of Maroa, Beth 
							(Bob) Crose of Forsyth, Amy (Toby) Hyde of Chestnut; 
							sister: Betty Birge of Maroa; six grandchildren: 
							Matt Zelhart, Marie Zelhart, Sarah (Eric) Douglas, 
							Rachel (fiancé: Cody Marlar) Crose, Zach (Dena) Hyde 
							and Bridgette ( Jacob) Harnacke; two 
							great-grandchildren: Gracie Hyde and Gabriel 
							Harnacke.
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents and infant 
							daughter.
