			 [November 28, 2017]
The Lady Railers Varsity annihilated Mattoon Monday night 56-26 in
the first Apollo Conference matchup of the season.
Lincoln ran out to a 15-0 lead before Mattoon even got in the
scoring column. Lincoln’s defense held the Lady Wave scoreless for
just over seven minutes to start the game. At the end of the first
quarter Lincoln held a commanding 15-4 lead.

Lincoln would go on a tear in the second quarter and run the score
			up to 36-4.

Kennedy Lolling scored the first five points of the quarter as she
nailed a long three and then had a steal and layup to put Lincoln up
			20-4.

Then it was Emma Konczyk getting comfortable in the corner and
connecting for back to back threes to extend the lead to 26-4.
Konczyk was outstanding in the paint also during this stretch. She
was a one-woman show putting back an offensive rebound and then on
the next possession she made a nice move in the lane for two more
			points.

Lincoln was definitely running away with this one, 30-4 now the
			score.

Morgan Lolling then single-handedly extendedly the lead to 35-4 and
there was no looking back for Lincoln.

Mattoon finally got a bucket with 2:25 showing on the clock in the
			second quarter.

By the time halftime was reached, Lincoln was dominating the Lady
			Wave 40-9.
The third quarter just got uglier for Mattoon. After Emerie Wieber’s
basket in the paint around the 5:00 mark, Lincoln was up by 37
points. The score was 48-11 and it would get worse for Mattoon.

Leah Schneider was showing no mercy in the lane as she drove to the
basket for consecutive buckets and then she pulled down an offensive
rebound she promptly put back up for two more points.

This time the lead was 54-13 and there was still 1:40 left to play
			in the third quarter.

Madelyn Koehler’s layup ten seconds later gave Lincoln the biggest
lead of the night with the score 56-13.

Heading into the final eight minutes of the game Lincoln was up
56-15 and the starters for Lincoln (Froebe, the Lolling twins,
Wieber and Konczyk) just cheered from the bench.

Mattoon’s bench managed to outscore Lincoln 11-0 in the fourth
quarter and the pain was over for the Green Wave. Mattoon had fallen
to Lincoln 56-26 and the Lady Wave had been introduced to Lincoln
			basketball the hard way.

That Lincoln press can really frustrate a team. Not to mention the
outside shooting. And don’t forget the points in the paint. Lincoln
crashed the boards well too. All in all a great effort by the Lady
Railers as they improve to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Apollo
			Conference.
