NBA Note - Orlando Magic Gordon, Aaron
F Aaron Gordon scored 40 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to carry the
Orlando Magic to a 121-108 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder
that snapped a nine-game losing streak. "We were tired of the losing
that kills your spirit," Gordon said, "so we went out and played
like we wanted this one." Gordon hit 13 of 23 shots, including 6 of
12 from 3-point range. He produced his second career 40-point game,
falling one point short of his career high, set Oct. 24 against the
Brooklyn Nets. He added four assists and four steals as Orlando won
for the first time since beating the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 10.

NBA Note - Orlando Magic Payton, Elfrid
G Elfrid Payton had 19 points and made eight of his 10 shots
Wednesday. He also had six assists. He set the tone early by beating
Oklahoma City G Russell Westbrook with a pullup jumper, then quickly
stole the ball from Thunder superstar on the next possession. In his
last five games, he is averaging 15.6 points on 59.6 percent
shooting with 5.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists.

NBA Note - Oklahoma City Thunder Westbrook, Russell
G Russell Westbrook scored 20 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter
of Wednesday's loss at Orlando. He scored at least 30 for the third
time, produced his 10th double-double by getting 11 rebounds and had
a season-high five steals.

F Paul George scored 22 points Wednesday in Orlando after missing 11
of 12 shots Saturday in Dallas.

G T.J. McConnell left Wednesday's win vs. Washington in the third
quarter with a bruised left shoulder and did not return. When asked
whether he expects McConnell to play Thursday night in Boston,

C Joel Embiid will not play against the Celtics, as he has not yet
been cleared to appear in back-to-back games.
Embiid totaled 25 points and 14 rebounds in Wednesday's win over

NBA Note - Philadelphia 76ers Simmons, Ben
G Ben Simmons shot 15 of 29 from the foul line as Washington
intentionally fouled him on numerous occasions in the fourth
quarter. The Wizards trailed by 24 and sent Simmons to the line 24
times in the fourth and the rookie missed 12. Simmons also totaled
31 points and 18 rebounds after being questionable for the game with
a sprained right ankle. The Sixers said Simmons is the second rookie
to get at least 30 points and 15 rebounds. The other was Billy
Cunningham on Jan. 9, 1966. Simmons also is the first Philadelphia
rookie with at least 18 rebounds since Charles Barkley on Feb. 22,
1985 vs. Detroit.

He also sat out the last 15 minutes of the first half with a facial
contusion before returning after halftime.

indicated to reporters before the game that his knee injury may be
more serious than initially thought.

NBA Note - New York Knicks Porzingis, Kristaps
F Kristaps Porzingis suffered an ankle sprain mere minutes into New
York's 115-86 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
Scrambling for a loose ball with Miami's Justice Winslow, Porzingis
had his right foot stepped on by Winslow and he crumpled to the
floor, remaining down for several minutes before being taken to the
locker room by Knicks trainers. New York later announced that X-rays
on Porzingis' ankle were negative and that he was able to return. By
then, the Knicks were already up big, and with one of their premier
post presences already playing so well, they saw no need to put him
back in the game. "After it happened, I was warming up," Porzingis
said after New York stopped a three-game losing streak. "My
adrenaline was high, I wasn't feeling it as much. I was actually
pretty close to coming back in. We were going to re-evaluate at
halftime and at halftime, the doctor recommended to stay out and we
made the decision that I should not go back out there."

NBA Note - New York Knicks Kanter, Enes
C Enes Kanter, who missed the previous three games with back spasms,
had 22 points and 14 rebounds Wednesday against Miami.
"His energy was great," Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek said. "He runs
the floor so that opens things up. A lot of times, it gets guys
screwed up in transition because they have to hold them up a bit and
that opens up the wings."

Charlotte 126-113 Wednesday. Lowry was 12 of 18 from the field and
made eight 3-pointers.

G DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points in Wednesday's win over Charlotte.
He scored two points in a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday to
end his streak of 113 straight games with 10 or more points, which
was one shy of G Kyle Lowry's team record.

C Dwight Howard totaled 22 points and 10 rebounds in Wednesday's
loss at Toronto. It was his sixth straight double-double and 13th
overall.

NBA Note - Toronto Raptors Valanciunas, Jonas
C Jonas Valanciunas produced 12 points Wednesday after getting 16
Saturday in Atlanta. It was the second time this season he scored in
double digits in consecutive games.

NBA Note - New Orleans Pelicans Davis, Anthony
C Anthony Davis was ejected for the first time in his career
Wednesday when he was tossed in the second quarter of a loss vs.
Minnesota.
Davis scored nine consecutive New Orleans points and was the game's
high scorer when he was called for an offensive foul midway through
the second quarter. He was called for a technical after arguing the
call, and Cousins stepped in to pull Davis away from the officials.
On the ensuing possession, Davis was called for a defensive foul as
Minnesota C Karl-Anthony Towns attempted a shot. Davis immediately
started arguing again and was called for another technical. NBA crew
chief Ken Mauer said Davis was disciplined for running at an
official and "cursing, swearing, using foul language."

NBA Note - New Orleans Pelicans Cousins, DeMarcus
C DeMarcus Cousins scored 17 points Wednesday but also spoke about
Anthony Davis getting ejected in the second quarter against
Minnesota. "It's a complete joke," said Cousins, who has been
ejected 12 times in his eight-year career, including once this
season. "What I don't understand is that players are punished for
playing off of emotions, but other people are allowed to and it is
totally fine. It's OK to coach off of emotion, judge a game off of
emotions, and it's bogus. I don't understand why players aren't
allowed to play off of emotions. It's a game of emotions."

He shot 10 of 18 and added eight rebounds to go along with five
assists. "That may have been (Wiggins') best game as a pro in
all-around play, not just the scoring, but the rebounding and the
playmaking to go along with it." Minnesota coach Tom Thibodeau said.

his previous scoring high of 11. He also grabbed a season-best seven
rebounds in 23 minutes during his seventh start.
"He played well, especially in the first half," Dallas coach Rick
Carlisle said. "He's got a lot of points.

NBA Note - San Antonio Spurs Aldridge, LaMarcus
F LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 41 points in Wednesday's
104-95 win over the Memphis Grizzlies His performance was his best
in the regular season in the three years he has played for the Spurs
and his fourth 30-plus point game of the season. Aldridge had 41
points in a playoff game in 2016 against Oklahoma City in his first
year in San Antonio His career regular-season high is 44 points in
2014 against Denver when he was with Portland.Aldridge shot 17 of 24
from the floor Wednesday. "It feels good -- I'm taking my time and
finding my shots and trying to make the other guys better," Aldridge
said. "I just ended up having a good night. Everyone was looking for
me and I was just trying to stay aggressive out there. When I hit an
early 3-pointer from the top of the key that was kind of a fluke
shot, I kinda figured this was going to be my night."

G Stephen Curry returned from a bruised right hand and scored 13 of
his 28 points in overtime as Golden State beat the Los Angeles
Lakers Wednesday. Curry missed six of his first seven 3-pointers
before hitting conscutive 3-pointers in overtime. "He had a horrible
start to the game, but what makes Steph Steph, on a night like
tonight, he still can make huge plays, which he did down the
stretch," Golden State coach Steve Kerr said. "It takes a special
player to bounce back within the same game and be able to reverse
things, and that's what he did."
