For children, the Zoo Lady did free face painting
and United Way hosted a book exchange where children
from 0-10 could bring a book to donate to another child and choose a
book to take home with them.
In addition, children could try out produce like
yellow squash and chopped brussel sprouts, and then received tokens
to spend at the market.
In the children's play area, some were pretending to
grow and sell fresh produce.
Also on site was the Central Illinois Community Blood
Center, who hosted a blood drive in their mobile unit.
The University of Illinois Extension Illinois Master
Gardeners offered information about the best way to prepare the
various types of apples that vendors were selling.

Apples cut in half were being used to make apple
paintings.
Others were offering fall themed items such as
pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkins, and jack-o-lantern soaps.
Volunteers from the Humane Society of Logan County
shared information on adopting and caring for pets.
At 11 a.m. ALMH Hospitalist Program Director Dr. Hal
Mohammed, lead several community members on a casual 5-mile bike
ride through Lincoln.
The ALMH closed out its great second season with a fun filled day
with much to see and do.
