On
Sunday the Second Baptist Church in Lincoln will honor Reverend
Glenn Shelton, who has served the church for the past 33 years.
In honor of Rev. Shelton, the morning service, which begins at 10:45
a.m., will feature a special guest pastor, Daniel Jarrett. Jarrett,
from Chicago, attended Lincoln College and while in Lincoln attended
the Second Baptist Church.
The community is invited to attend the morning service and help the
congregation honor Reverend Shelton. The Second Baptist Church is
located at 1724 Tremont Street in Lincoln.

Rev. Shelton through the years has not only been a strong leader
in the church, he has also been a strong leader in the community serving on the
Lincoln City Council for a period and being highly involved with the Logan
County Emergency Management Agency and the Emergency Telecommunication System
Board.
Rev. Shelton has also invested his time in promoting higher
education, working each year with the Joyce Kinzie Memorial Scholarship Program
and participating in the annual Scholarship Breakfast held at Lincoln College.
Known for his broad smile and quick wit, the Rev. Glen Shelton's love for his
church and all mankind makes him a genuine asset in our community. His lovely
wife Ginger supports him in all his efforts.
