West Lincoln Broadwell Lady Wolverines weekly recap

The Lady Wolverine Basketball team has had a great few weeks.

Sixth Grade Lady Wolverines

The 6th grade Lady Wolverines brought home the 6th grade Mount Pulaski Tournament Championship for the 3rd straight year.

Seventh Grade Lady Wolverines

The 7th Grade Lady Wolverine basketball team started the away stretch of play with a win over Christ the King by a score of 45-11.

Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 24 as Jenna Bowman added 11, Rebecca Burge 2, Tori Geriets 2, Regan Goodey 2, Elly Martinez 2. Froebe also led with 5 rebounds and 7 steals as Heitzig and Martinez both grabbed 6.

After traveling to Springfield the Lady Wolverines played in Mount Pulaski.

The 7th grade team pulled out a 50-21 win over the Honeybears. Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 33 as Elly Martinez added 6, Jenna Bowman 5, Tori Geriets 4 and Becca Hetizig 2. Kloe Froebe and Becca Hetizig led on the boards each pulling down 4. Froebe led the defensive attack with 9 steals as Bowman picked up 6.

The Lady Wolverines then traveled to Illini Central where they picked up their next road win by defeating the Cougars 44-1. Froebe led in scoring with 25, Bowman put in 8, Elly Martinez 6, Tori Geriets 2, Regan Goodey 2, Kylie Boyer 1. Froebe led in Rebounds with 7 and also grabbed 6 steals as Heitzig picked off 4. The 7th Grade Lady Wolverine Basketball team is now 12-0.

The 7th grade team will be back in action Saturday for the Logan County Conference tournament hosted by CEL.

Eight Grade Lady Wolverines

The 8th grade team has also had a very impressive road trip week.

The Lady Wolverines came out victorious against Christ the King by a score of 48-17.

Asia Sales led all scorers with 19 as Froebe put in 11. Also scoring were Schilling with 7, Elly Martinez with 5, Alison Turner, Tori Geriets and Jazmyn Robbins all contributed with 2. On the boards Schilling led by pulling down 8 as Froebe pulled down 7. Froebe also led on the defensive side with 7 steals.


The 8th Grade Lady Wolverines then traveled to Mount Pulaski where they defeated the Honeybears by a score of 55-40.

Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 33 points as Asia Sales found herself in foul trouble and only played 5 minutes but managed to put up 11 points. Also contributing in scoring was Jenna Bowman 6, Tori Schilling, Elly Martinez and Jazmyn Robbins with 2 a piece. Kloe Froebe worked hard on the boards and pulled down 7 as Becca Heitzig added 3. On the defensive side Froebe led the attack with 8 steals as Heitzig grabbed 6.

The final leg of the road trip for the 8th grade Lady Wolverines was to Easton to play Illini Central.

The Lady Wolverines defeated the Cougars by a score of 69-6. Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 26 as Asia Sales contributed with 14. Also contributing were Tori Schilling 6, Elly Martinez 4, Jaxmyn Robbins 4, Becca Hetizig 4, Jenna Bowman 4, Tori Geriets 4, Jane Turner 2 and Alison Turner 1. With the road wins the 8th grade Lady Wolverine record now stands as 12-0.

The 8th grade team will be back in action on Monday at Sangamon Valley.
