Recently, fifth
graders from across Logan County traveled to the Museum of Science
and Industry in Chicago. The Student Enrichment Trip was sponsored
by the Woods Foundation, made possible by the generosity of Robert
J. and Joan J. Woods.
Students from Lincoln Elementary District #27, Chester-East Lincoln,
Carroll Catholic, Hartsburg-Emden, Mount Pulaski, New
Holland-Middletown, Olympia South Elementary - Atlanta, West
Lincoln-Broadwell, and Zion Lutheran - Lincoln all participated and
enjoyed an exciting day in Chicago.
As the students were leaving, many of them were anxious to share
their favorite part of the trip.
Chester-East Lincoln fifth-grader Maggie Nemeth said, “I really
enjoyed the tornado machine where we could get in and experience the
strong winds.”
Isiah Evans from Northwest Elementary really enjoyed the electrical
ball and how the current would go through your fingers.
Ethan, from Hartsburg-Emden, said, “It was all really cool, but my
favorite part was the train exhibit.”
Emma Baker from West Lincoln-Broadwell summed it up best when she
said, “I really liked the Amazon movie, but overall it was an
awesome day and I can’t wait to go back.”
