Coach Kyle Caldwell was elated with the ladies’
performance all the way around, as each Railer volleyball squad
came away with a victory.
- The Freshmen set the tone by winning 25-9 and 25-21.
- The JV took it to three sets, winning 25-19, 24-26 and 15-13.
- And the Varsity just took the excitement to another level,
winning in three sets 25-23, 22-25 and 25-23.
Following the exciting wins, Coach Caldwell said, "Tonight we
had a great win at every level. Freshmen continued to roll with
a straight sets victory, JV turned things around with a 15-13
win in the 3rd, and Varsity won a thriller 25-23 in the third
with a huge swing from Tearaney Eads that painted the corner.
"We continued to pass well with a 2.13 and our offense improved
as anticipated by hitting a .250 efficiency for the match. We
definitely took some lumps including some incredible swings by
Mahomet's D1 committed outside hitter, but we appreciate the
struggles as a chance to learn how to improve.
"Ultimately we executed the game plan that allowed us to grind
out the win against a very strong team and I expect us both to
compete near the top of the conference. Don't miss out when
Mahomet comes to us on Sept 26th because I wouldn't expect it to
be anything short of another thriller.”
Lincoln improves to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Apollo
Conference.
