F Thomas Vanek signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the
Vancouver Canuks on Friday.
Vanek, 33, scored 17 goals with 31 assists in 68 games split
between Florida and Detroit last season.

NHL Note - Columbus Blue Jackets Wennberg, Alexander
C Alexander Wennberg signed a six-year contract with the
Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday through the 2022-23 season. The
deal is for $29.4 million, with a $4.9 million cap hit. The
22-year-old scored 13 goals and 46 assists for 59 points and a
plus-9 rating in 80 regular season games last season.
