Obituary
Cynthia L. “Cindy” Buckles, 61, passed away at 6;05
p.m. at her home in Mount Pulaski on September 2,
2017.
Cindy was born on May 25, 1956 in Fairfield, IA;
daughter of Eugene and Theresa Ryan Fahrner. She
married John Buckles on March 6, 2009 in Lincoln. He
survives her.
Also surviving Cindy are her step children: Jeremy
Buckles of Parker, CO and Cassie (Alex) Dahm of
Lincoln, two step grandchildren: Hank and Jake, one
sister, Mary Mitzelfelt of Mount Pulaski, one
nephew, William Smith of North Liberty, IA; two step
brothers, Lucas Jagen of Fairfield, IA and Michael
Skirvin of Batavia, IA. She was preceded in death by
her parents, sister, Theresa McKay, and nephew,
Brandon Clark.

Cindy was the supervisor of housekeeping at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski. She
enjoyed baking, canning, fishing, music, and her
little dog Quincy.
Services for Cindy will be 11:00 a.m. Friday
September 8, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Mount Pulaski, with Mark Weber officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service
also at the funeral home. Burial at Steenbergen
Cemetery will follow the service.
Memorials may be made in Cindy’s name to Mount
Pulaski Christian church or Decatur Memorial
Hospital Hospice.
