Jokipakka, Jyrki
D Jyrki Jokipakka signed a professional tryout contract with the
Washington Capitals, multiple outlets reported on Tuesday.
Jokipakka collected one goal and five assists in 41 games with
the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators last season. He was
traded from Calgary to Ottawa in a deal involving forward Curtis
Lazar. The 26-year-old native of Finland has recorded three
goals and 25 assists in 150 career contests with the Flames,
Senators and Stars since being selected by Dallas with a
seventh-round pick in the 2011 draft.

NHL Note - Calgary Flames Wotherspoon, Tyler
D Tyler Wotherspoon signed a one-year, two-way contract, the
Calgary Flames announced Tuesday. Wotherspoon failed to record a
point in four games with the Flames last season. The 24-year-old
British Columbia native enjoyed a productive campaign with the
Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League, collecting a
career-high six goals and 12 assists in 56 games.
