WLB scored lit up the scoreboard with 3 in the first,
2 in the second, 6 in the third, 1 in the fourth, and 2 in the
fifth. Several players had their best day at the plate to this point
in the season. Michael Lucas led the way with 3 hits including 2
doubles. Scotty Battin continued his solid year with the stick
collecting 3 hits including a double and a triple. Sam Gleason and
Jacob Langley each added a double. Trey Schilling had 2 knocks and 2
RBIs. Cam Nelson had his first multi-hit game with 2 singles.
Head coach Jeff Nelson said, "I thought our approach
at the plate was very good tonight. Maybe the best so far this
season. We were aggressive in the zone and were able to drive the
ball with a little power. If we can tidy up our defense in a couple
of spots, we might be able to make a decent run this post season."
WLB will take to the road again on Thursday night to take on Midwest
Central. The game will be played in Green Valley at 4:00pm. Their
final regular season game will come Saturday at Stephen Decatur.
