Presbyterian Calendar for September
LINCOLN CHRISTIAN CHURCH
SEPTEMBER 2017
KIDS’ WORSHIP
Extreme Makeover—
Christ-Centered Attitudes
It’s back to school time! This can be a tricky time for kids:
resuming schedules, adjusting to a new classroom, a new teacher, new
kids, and maybe even a new school. Many changes can happen during
the summer and all of these things can bring about some positive and
negative emotions. And, in the end, cause some struggles with
previously healthy attitudes. During the month of September our kids
will be in a series during Kids Worship time at 8:15 and 11:00 a.m.
learning about how we can develop Christ-centered attitudes in our
lives. We’ll learn from some people who certainly had some struggles
in their lives, yet they focused on the One who guides us and brings
peace: people like Hannah and Paul. We will discover how they made
godly choices and how we can too. Our key verse is Philippians 2:5,
“Have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Parents, if you
would like to review what we study with your kids, the titles and
texts are below, and the main point
is listed in italics.
• The Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Luke 18:9–14.
We’re humble before God.
• A Woman Anoints Jesus’ Feet. Luke 7:36–50.
We serve others.
• Twelve Spies Report on Canaan. Numbers 13:17–14:9.
We trust that God is with us.
• Paul Is Shipwrecked. Acts 27:13-25; Philippians 4:10–13.
We accept what God gives us.
