Mashinter, Brandon
LW Brandon Mashinter signed one-year contract with the San Jose
Sharks on Monday. Mashinter, 28, registered 30 points (15 goals,
15 assists) and 70 penalty minutes for the Rockford IceHogs, the
American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks,
during the 2016-17 season. He was named the team's MVP.
Mashinter made his NHL debut on Dec. 29, 2010, with the Sharks.
He played in 64 career NHL games with the Sharks, Chicago
Blackhawks and New York Rangers, recording four goals, one
assist and 50 penalty minutes.

NHL Note - New Jersey Devils Severson, Damon
D Damon Severson signed a six-year, $25 million contract through
the 2022-23 season, the Devils announced Monday. Severson, 23,
will earn $2.5 million in 2017-18 and his salary will escalate
to $5.1 million in the final year. He completed his third NHL
season in 2016-17, setting career highs with 28 assists, 31
points and 125 shots on goal in 80 games.
