LINCOLN
- The Board of Education of Lincoln Community High School is proud
to announce the stage in the auditorium will officially be named the
Dan “Mac” McLaughlin Stage at a ceremony to be held on Monday,
September 18 at 6:30 p.m.
|
All former students, colleagues, and the community
are welcome to attend and honor Dan.
Mr. McLaughlin is being honored for his years of service to Lincoln
Community High School, where he taught English, Speech, and
Literature from 1970 – 1997. His true passion, however, was teaching
his students the performing arts. Dan loved acting himself, and he
loved to see his students embrace the challenges of acting and
succeed.

During his tenure at LCHS, Mr. McLaughlin oversaw an
award-winning IHSA Speech program that produced many individual State champions
and in 1981, the Speech Team took first place in the Illinois State Tournament.
This 1981 victory remains the only team State Championship for LCHS in any IHSA
event.
The Board of Education is honored to name this stage after Dan McLaughlin for
his dedication to LCHS and our community. Please mark your calendar and help
celebrate this special occasion.
