			of Lincoln passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 12:15 a.m. at 
			The Christian Village Nursing Home.

							Obituary 
							Kenneth C. "Ken" Kinney, 96, of Lincoln passed away 
							on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 12:15a.m. at The 
							Christian Village Nursing Home. 
							 
							A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 
							September 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Catholic 
							Church in Lincoln. 
							 
							Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 
							a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home. 
							 
							Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln.
							Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion 
							Post # 263 of Lincoln. 
							 
							Kenneth C. Kinney was born on May 13, 1921 in 
							Patoka, Illinois the son of Lloyd and Leona Kinney. 
							He was united in marriage to Elizabeth L. "Betty" 
							Eimer on New Years Day in 1949. She preceded him in 
							death on June 20, 2013. 
							 
							He is survived by two sons: Thomas (wife Rita 
							Leckrone) Kinney of Petaluma, California, Terry 
							Kinney of Brooklyn, New York. Four grandchildren: 
							Thomas Kinney Jr. of Colorado, Jesse Kinney of 
							California, Carson Kinney and Maeve Kinney both of 
							New York. One great grandchild: Courtnee Lemmons of 
							Colorado.   | 
							
							 
                
                  
							He was preceded in death by one brother: Howard 
							Kinney who was a band instructor at Greenville High 
							School, and one sister: Ada Mae Hyde. 
							 
							Ken graduated from Lincoln High School and then 
							served in United States Army. He was an 
							anti-aircraft gunner and unfortunately lost some 
							hearing as a result.  
							 
							Ken loved to fish and he and his wife spent much of 
							their time fishing in retirement.  
							 
							He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Inc. first 
							working in Peoria and then transferring to the 
							Decatur plant. He was previously a member of the 
							Caterpillar Tractor Golden Glove Boxing Team and 
							asked to be given a job if he agreed to box for 
							them.  
							 
							Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Council
