[September 20, 2017]  MOUNT PULASKI - Freda L. McGee, 90, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on September 2, 2017 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Mount Pulaski

Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 7 at the funeral home

Obituary

MOUNT PULASKI - Freda L. McGee, 90, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on September 2, 2017 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Freda was born on April 7, 1927 in Buffalo, MO; daughter of Walter and Oma Ester (Cowan) Baker. She married Wallace McGee on July 21, 1950 in Mount Pulaski. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2005.

Surviving Freda are her children: Thomas McGee of Denver, CO and Susan Shull (Robert) Broughton of Lincoln, one sister, Joyce (Jack) Scroggin of Mount Pulaski, one grandchild, Melany (Chuck) Perrone of South Lyon, MI; two great grandchildren: Natalie and Jacob Perrone. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin daughters, three brothers: Bertrum, James , and Don, and one sister, Rosanna.

 

Freda was a Kindergarten teacher at Mount Pulaski Grade School, taught at Chester East Grade School in Lincoln, and Birks School. She enjoyed traveling, watching the grandchild and great grandchildren, and loved sewing.

Services for Freda will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 7, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 6, 2017 also at the funeral home. Burial at Steenbergen Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials may be made in Freda’s name to Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
