LINCOLN
- James Edward "Jim" Billington, 72, died at his home at 1:30 a.m.
September 11, 2017, with family gathered in a loving send-off. He
lived a life centered around showing Christ's love by serving
others.

Obituary
James Edward "Jim" Billington, 72, died at his home
at 1:30 a.m. September 11, 2017, with family
gathered in a loving send-off. He lived a life
centered around showing Christ's love by serving
others.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Ernest
Billington. He is survived by his wife Annette of 52
years. Also surviving are his mother, Louise
Billington of Mount Pulaski, his children, Scott
Billington of Lincoln, Lora (Joe) Olson of
Champaign, brothers Bob (Vickie) Billington of Creve
Coeur, and Ron (Donna) Billington of Bellevue, NE;
grandchildren, Steven Billington and Alyssa, Sydney,
and Abby Olson. Grieving in their own way are two
pets, Ted E. Bear (Yorkie), and Oreo (cat).
Jim was born January 16, 1945, Jim attended Lincoln
Christian University and had a career in maintenance
with the school. On September 7 he received from LCU
the "Christian Service Award" for outstanding
Kingdom Service and Ministry. He was a long-time
member of Lincoln Christian Church and an involved
participant in the activities and service of the
Encourager's Sunday School class. |
He was a sportsman, enjoying hunting and was both an
avid and effective fisherman. He was a lifelong
Dodgers fan. His love for his family was without
limits.
A service to celebrate a life-well-lived will be
held at Lincoln Christian Church, Thursday September
14, at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Otto officiating.
Visitation will be two hours prior to service
(9:00-11:00 a.m.)
Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian
University.
