Obituary
Leota Louise Lamar, 86, passed away Sunday,
September 3, 2017 at the Vonderlieth Living Center,
where she had resided for the past four years.
Leota leaves behind her Son, Gary Lamar, and his
wife, Jana, of Decatur, her daughter, Shirley Lamar
of Brazil, IN; four grandchildren: David Hughes
(Stephanie) Brazil, IN; Deanna Clark of Terre Haute,
IN; Darcy (Kel) Szajko, and Lindsey (Kaleb) Swarts,
all of Decatur, ten great-grandchildren; her sister,
Lois Byrne of Chestnut, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hatcil
(Buss) Lamar; parents, Boyd Hahn and Clara Hahn;
three brothers: Boyd Jr., Herschel, and Harry; and
two sisters: Helena Teichmann and Doris Koehler
Faith.
Raised in Mount Pulaski all her life she married
Hatcil Lamar, on April 14, 1951 in Lincoln. They had
celebrated 65 years of marriage before Buss passed
away on August 19, 2016. |
Leota loved to be with people and could strike up a
conversation with anyone. She enjoyed hummingbirds
and her flowers, but those paled in comparison to
her love for her family, whom were her pride and
joy. Leota was a lifelong member of Mount Pulaski
Christian Church.
At her request, cremation is to be handled by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home with a private,
family graveside service to follow at a later date.
