09/27/2017 NFL Note - Kansas City Chiefs Santos, Cairo
K Cairo Santos was placed on injured reserve Tuesday by the Kansas
City Chiefs. Santos, who was plagued by a groin injury during
preseason, was a perfect 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts this season
and made all 12 of his extra-point tries for the Chiefs (3-0).
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Kansas City Chiefs Butker, Harrison
K Harrison Butker was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs off the
Carolina Panthers' practice squad. Butker, who was a seventh-round
selection out of Georgia Tech, was bidding with Graham Gano for the
Panthers' kicking job. Butker made both of his field-goal attempts
in the preseason, each from beyond 40 yards. He was also 4-for-4 on
extra points.
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Miami Dolphins Timmons, Lawrence
OLB Lawrence Timmons was reinstated by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday
from an indefinite suspension, the team announced. Timmons
disappeared the night before the team's season-opening game against
the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 17. He missed that contest and was
subsequently suspended when his reasoning for going AWOL wasn't
deemed sufficient by the club.
-----------------------------------------------

recorded one special teams tackle in two games with the Dolphins.

NFL Note - Dallas Cowboys Awuzie, Chidobe
CB Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) remains a longshot to play against the
Rams after missing the Cardinals game. He will try to practice on
Thursday.
-----------------------------------------------

Cardinals game and will likely miss the Rams game.
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Dallas Cowboys Lawrence, DeMarcus
DE DeMarcus Lawrence had three sacks against the Cardinals, giving
him an NFL high 6.5 sacks for the season. It was his third straight
multi-sack game to start the season. It was the first three-sack
game of his career.
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Dallas Cowboys Bryant, Dez
WR Dez Bryant caught a touchdown pass against the Cardinals, giving
him 69 for his career. That's the sixth-most in NFL history through
the first 100 games of a player's career.
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Arizona Cardinals Boone, Alex
LG Alex Boone suffered a pectoral injury during the Cardinals'
second-to-last possession of the game Monday night and was scheduled
to have an MRI exam on Tuesday. General manager Steve Keim was
anticipating that the injury won't be too serious.
"The one thing I know about Alex in the short time he's been here is
he's extremely tough," Keim said. "He's the kind of guy who will
play through pain and I think it would have to be pretty severe for
him to miss time."
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Arizona Cardinals Bucannon, Deone
ILB Deone Bucannon, still recovering from offseason ankle surgery,
has yet to play in any of the team's first three games. Head coach
Bruce Arians said Bucannon almost played Monday night against
Dallas.

have a role for him this week, and another day in pads will
determine how he plays, if he plays."
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Arizona Cardinals Holden, Will
T Will Holden, a rookie, will start at left tackle if D.J. Humphries
(knee) and John Wetzel (pectoral) can't play this Sunday against San
Francisco.
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Arizona Cardinals Johnson, Chris
RB Chris Johnson looked "a little rusty" against the Cowboys on
Monday night, head coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday, hinting that
Andre Ellington might see more time in the backfield this Sunday
against the visiting 49ers.
"Andre looked very much more comfortable. I thought Andre looked
very fast in the game," Arians said.
Asked if Ellington can be effective running between the tackles or
if the player still projects more as a third-down back in passing
situations, which is what he was when the season started, Arians
said, "Andre's always been effective. When he was our guy, 80-yard
runs were up the middle. We're not a perimeter running team
anyways."

NFL Note - Green Bay Packers Jones, Joshua
LB/S Josh Jones, a rookie second-round draft choice, made his first
start of the season last week. It's a good bet Jones will be hard to
get out of the lineup moving forward.
Jones played all 61 snaps against Cincinnati, and had two sacks, 12
tackles, three tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries.
"You obviously saw him impact the game with the blitzes and he made
a lot of plays tackling," Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers
said of Jones. ""I thought it was a very good start for him up in
that position."
-----------------------------------------------
NFL Note - Green Bay Packers Burnett, Morgan
SS Morgan Burnett showed his remarkable versatility by playing
nickel cornerback last week. Burnett, a safety throughout his
career, has also played inside linebacker this season.
"Anytime you take one of your safeties and put him inside to play
the sub linebacker position, I think that shows his versatility,"
head coach Mike McCarthy said. "And then the ability now to bounce
out to the nickel, I think it's an extraordinary opportunity for
Morgan. Plus, he calls the defense. He carries a ton of
responsibility for our defense.
"He's just a heck of a football player. He's one of my all-time
favorites, just the way he goes about his business. He carries a ton
of credibility in the locker room, more about not what he says but
the way he goes about it personally and professionally. He's a
four-position player now in our defense."
-----------------------------------------------
