“This time of year shoppers find the best of both
summer and the fall. Our vendors have tomatoes, sweet peppers, green
beans and tender sweet greens like arugula, spinach, swiss chard and
kale. But they also have root vegetables like sweet potatoes,
rutabagas, turnips and radishes,” said Nicole Cox, ALMH market
			manager.

In addition to the amazing vendors, The Market’s regular activities
including the Power of Produce Club for kids and Zumba with Janell
Woolard at 9am. Emily Johnson who recently opened up for Pentatonix
at the Illinois State Fair will be providing live music.

To help celebrate an amazing second season, The Zoo Lady will also
be on-site with free face painting and the Central Illinois
Community Blood Center will host a blood drive. It’s also community
day at the The ALMH Market featuring United Way of Logan County, the
Humane Society of Logan County and the University of Illinois
Extension Illinois Master Gardeners. United Way is hosting a
children’s book exchange, encouraging children ages 0 – 10 to bring
a book to donate for another child and choose a new or gently used
book to take home. At 11 a.m. Dr. Hal
Mohammed, ALMH Hospitalist Program Director, will lead community
members on a casual 5-mile bike ride through Lincoln. All fitness
levels and ages are encouraged to bring a bike and join the ride.
