The Lincoln Railers Volleyball Team defeated
Sacred Heart-Griffin Thursday night at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium
and it was a record-setting night. Mackenzie Antoine hit the
floor for 24 digs, a new school record, as the Railers won over
the Cyclones in three sets. Lincoln took the first set 25-14,
lost 16-25 in the second set and then showed their old Central
State 8 rival the way to the door with a 25-22 win in front of a
pumped up Railer crowd.
Tearaney Eads led the Railers offense with 13 kills.
Lincoln Coach Kyle Caldwell commented on the big win, "This was
a huge win over a very talented SHG team for us. I can't say
enough about how well we played and how hard we worked. It feels
great to be moving in the right direction again and beating the
best team in the CS8. When we play as well as we did tonight we
can beat the best teams in the state for 3A. The goal is to play
at that level consistently and we will attempt that in a tough
Riverton Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Also congratulations are in order for Mackenzie Antoine for
breaking the scores record for digs in a match with 24.”
Lincoln improves to 13-6 overall.
The Lincoln JV lost to SHG 9-25 and 10-25.
The Lincoln Freshmen won over SHG by scores of 25-23, 19-25 and
15-13.
