		 People v. Cleophious Thompson, 17 CF 42 and 17 CF 70: On 
		September 19, 2017, Associate Judge William Workman accepted a fully 
		negotiated plea agreement on both cases sentencing Cleophious Thompson 
		to a total of 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  
		 
		In the first case, Mr. Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of Burglary, 
		a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 4 years in prison. This case 
		involved Mr. Thompson entering a vehicle and taking items from it. 
			 
        
		  
		In the second case, Mr. Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of 
		Aggravated Battery, a class 3 felony, and was sentenced to 2 years in 
		prison. This case involved a fight between Mr. Thompson and another 
		inmate at the Logan County Jail. The two sentences are to be served 
		consecutively.

		People v. Jace Barnes, 17 CF 85: On September 19, 2017, Associate 
		Judge William Workman accepted a fully negotiated plea agreement 
		sentencing Jace Barnes to 4 years in the Illinois Department of 
		Corrections for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, a class 4 
		felony.  
		 
		The case arises out of a traffic stop conducted by the Logan County 
		Sheriff’s Department. During the stop, a K9 officer was called and his 
		K9 alerted for the presence of drugs. During the search, deputies 
		located approximately 1 gram of heroin in the trunk of the vehicle 
		driven by Mr. Barnes.
