 These
students had a goal to raise $15,000 this year and they exceeded
that goal by a long shot. Saturday they presented HSHS St. John’s
Children’s Hospital with a check for $25,000.
Congratulations again to these awesome young people who dedicated
countless hours in a variety of ways through the many fundraising
efforts it took to raise this money. These students are making a
difference in the lives of others and it’s no doubt they will
continue to do so in the future.

Jennifer Huynh, one of the lead coordinators of the
event noted afterward, ""I along with the rest of the RailerThon
members couldn’t be more happy with how the event turned out. Seeing
our hard work over the past two years become $40,000 is incredible!

"RailerThon has really been a huge part of my high
school career and it is bittersweet that it’s all over, but I do
plan on continuing this amazing journey next year as a part of
IliniThon at the University of Illinois.
"I am also so thankful for everyone that has helped,
volunteered, and donated to this truly amazing organization!
"RailerThon and what it has accomplished will always
have a special place in my heart, and we couldn’t have done it
without this community."
According to the RailerThon website, RailerThon is a
year-long nonprofit fundraising organization comprised of a group of
students who work throughout the year to raise awareness and funds
for St. John’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield. The group began
as a part of The Miracle Network Dance Marathon (the parent
organization of RailerThon), a movement benefiting Children’s
Miracle Network Hospitals.
