[April 05, 2018]  A threat of rain and 40 mile per hour wind gusts didn't keep families from home mid-day Saturday. Kids with buckets and bags were poised as normal this time of the year at the ABATE Easter Egg Hunt held in Kickapoo Creek Park each year.

On "Go" hundreds of kids launched to gather up as many eggs as the could and later feast on the sweets contained.

Each year area motorcycle members of ABATE "A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education" sponsor the Egg Hunt as one of their community service projects.

Arenas were taped off by age groups and eggs with candies and surprises are strewn in the grass. Some eggs have a grand prize ticket in them. Prizes included large goody bags and bicycles.

ABATE strives toward training motorcyclists in safety habits and creating public awareness for all motorists to watch for motorcycles, which often are difficult to see, especially at certain times of the day as when looking into a setting sun.
