Tyson, a junior at Hewitt-Trussville in
Trussville, Ala., announced the decision on Twitter, sending out
a photo of him with Nick Saban and writing, "I felt the same
calling that my Great Grandfather had when he was asked to come
home. Alabama is home and that's where I (sic) am want to spend
my college career."
Tyson threw for 3,392 yards, 36 touchdowns and four
interceptions last season as his team reached the Class 7A state
quarterfinals. The 6-foot-4, 217-pounder is considered a top-10
quarterback in his class.
Bryant coached Alabama for 25 seasons, winning a record six
national titles, a mark that Saban tied with the Tide's overtime
victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in January. Bryant also
claimed 13 SEC titles while going 232-46-9 overall.
